‘A piacere’ is a menu term that literally means ‘to your liking’, or more accurately translated, ‘to taste’.
‘Piacere’ is the Italian verb for ‘to like’, and is extensively used in many contexts. You will often hear Italians say ‘piacere’ by itself in the sense of ‘it’s a pleasure’, or ‘with pleasure’.
You find ‘a piacere’ on a menu regarding, for example, steak, which is cooked ‘a piacere’ depending on whether you like it rare, or medium etc.
With Italian you pronounce each syllable. The stress is on the penultimate (second to last) syllable.
