What is "brasserie"?
‘Brasserie’ *(f) translates as ‘brewery’ in French. It doesn’t always mean a brewery proper, and also describes a fairly upscale, but informal restaurant. A French brasserie usually has a printed menu, in contrast to a more informal bistro where the menu is often written on a chalk-board. See also:
