‘Chorizo’ is a highy-seasoned pork sausage from Spain. It is also found in South America and Portugal – seasonings vary from region to region. This word is very often mispronounced by English speakers, who affect Italian pronunciation on a Spanish word, so it comes out ‘choh/RITZ/oh.
How to say chorizo in English?
Simple. Decide whether the Latin-American or Spanish pronunciation is more applicable to you, and then say the word as it’s written phonetically in your own accent. If you are in the UK, I suggest saying tcho/REE/thoh and if you are in the USA I suggest tchoh/REE/soh.

The plural is chorizos. Note the difference between the pronunciation in South America, and the pronunciation in Spain.
