What is "fagioli"?
‘Fagioli’ *(m) is the Italian word for ‘beans’. The Tuscans are often referred to as ‘Mangiafagioli’ (‘bean-eaters’) because of the pronounced feature of beans in their cuisine. A well-known Italian dish is ‘Pasta e Fagioli‘.
‘Fagioli’ refers to dried beans, as opposed to ‘green’ or ‘string-beans’, which are called ‘fagiolini’.
