A Quick Overview Of Hors D’oeuvres
'Hors d'oeuvres' have the same name in English. They are served before the main-course. The name means 'outside of the main works' - because they are followed by a main meal. Don't say the 'h' in 'hors d'oeuvres'- you don't want it to come out, as I have often heard English speakers say: 'whore's doo/vreez'. It's not a word that is pronounced correctly instinctively by English speakers - you have to learn it.
