| What is "Insalata Caprese"? | Insalata caprese’ means ‘Capri salad’ in Italian. It consists of tomato, mozzarella and basil, and is usually dressed with a little olive oil. You can easily make one at home by slicing a mozzarella into thin rounds, doing the same with the tomato. You alternate the slices, tuck in fresh basil leaves (or scatter them on top), dress with a little olive oil, add some salt and pepper to taste, and you have made an Insalata Caprese in under 5 minutes! The green, white, and red of the ingredients mimics the colors of the Italian flag – this is a very popular salad in Italy. If you found this helpful, please share!
