What is "Mourvèdre"?

Mourvèdre is a red grape variety grown internationally. It is high in tannins, and is often blended with Grenache (particularly in the Rhône). Grenache is lacking in tannins, and so these grape varieties blend to be produce well-rounded wines.

Mourvèdre can be used to make red wines and rosés.
