What is "petits fours"?
‘Petits fours’ are are varied – they can be rich biscuits, pastries, types of confectionary, glazed fruit, or small iced cakes, usually based on a génoise sponge. Flavours and decorations vary considerably. An assortment of petits fours may follow dinner, or be served with tea, or coffee. The literal tranlastion of ‘petits fours’ is ‘little ovens’.
