| What is "Tapenade"? | ‘Tapenade’ is a Provençal condiment, which traditionally contains capers, anchovies, stoned black olives, and olive oil which are pounded together with in a pestle and mortar, or blended until smooth. Tapenade has become quite popular, and the ingredients in commercially produced, grocery store brands can vary – the one ingredient that is constant is stoned black olives. You can eat tapenade on crusty French bread as a snack, as a dip with fresh raw vegetables, or as a condiment.
