| What is "Tiramisù"? | ‘Tiramisù’ iss an Italian dessert which consists of sponge fingers (savoiardi) dipped in coffee and liqueur, layered with a mixture of mascarpone cheese, egg and sugar, and sprinkled with cocoa or chocolate shavings. ‘Tiramisù’ means ‘pick-me-up’ in Italian. Tiramisù seems to be an old Italian recipe that has been around for ever but in fact it only seems to date back as far as the 80′s (which, to be fair, is forever to someone born more recently). |
