‘Tripel Karmeliet’ is a beer brewed in Belgium at Brouwerij Bosteels (Bosteels Brewery). ‘Tripel’ means ‘triple’, and refers to the fact that the beer is brewed with three grains’, barley, oats, and wheat. ‘Karmeliet’ means ‘Carmelite’ – the recipe originated in a Carmelite monastery. The beer is refermented in the bottle.
