| What is "Waterzooi"? | Waterzooi is a traditional Flemish (Belgian) chicken stew which is cooked with aromatic herbs and vegetables in a broth which is thickened with egg-yolks and cream. Waterzooi can be made with fish. It is usually served with baguette to mop up the sauce. In Belgium, French, Dutch, and German are the official languages, but non-official languages such as Flemish are also recognized. Flemish is closes to Dutch. Here is a recipe for the dish via the inimitable Julia Child.
